Is it secure to pay 'online'?


QUESTION:

I've had a few bad experiences purchasing products online using my credit card. Is your security system safe and reliable?


ANSWER:

We understand your concerns about using a credit card online. But we use 2
companies called "ClickBank" and "PayPal" to deal with our client's credit card
and they are very reputable companies.

They both use sophisticated international fraud control to screen all purchases.
For maximum card security, all orders are sent directly to the banking network
for immediate authorization. They do not store any credit card or bank account
numbers.

How will the charge appear?


QUESTION:

If I purchase one of your products, how will the charge appear on
my monthly statement?


ANSWER:

Even though you are purchasing products from the 'Birth Planning Center',
the charge will appear on your Credit Card or Bank or PayPal statement
under either:

>>> CLICKBANK (or CLKBANK*COM)

OR...

>>> PAYPAL

If you have purchased with PayPal, the charge will appear under: 'Baby Gender'.


The reliable companies above are specialized in dealing with customers payment
for 'online' transactions BUT...

They are third party companies and they are unable to assist you in regards to
the products we sell here at the Birth Planning Center.

What is the "VAT" charge/fee?

What is the VAT charge/fee for?


ANSWER:

Beginning July 1, 2003 all sellers of digitally-delivered products and services
are required by law (known as E-Commerce Directive 2002/38/EC or the
"Directive") to collect VAT taxes if the buyer resides in one of the European
Community (EC) countries. We, like all sellers, must comply with the law.


>>> What is "VAT"?

VAT (Value-Added Tax) is similar to a national sales tax. European consumers
are used to paying VAT on nearly everything they purchase. The new Directive
extends VAT taxation to goods and services sold to Europeans over the Net.


>>> Must sellers located outside of the EC also collect and remit VAT?

Yes. The law states that VAT must be collected from any BUYER residing in
the EC regardless of the location of the seller. EC sellers have been collecting
VAT from EC buyers now for some time. The new law extends the collection
obligation to non-EC sellers, and is intended to level the playing field between
EC and non-EC sellers.


>>> What are the tax rates?

The tax rate may change from time to time and varies from approximately 15%
to 25%, depending on the country. As of July 1st 2003, the VAT rates are:

  • BE Belgium 21.0%
  • DK Denmark 25.0%
  • FI Finland 22.0%
  • FR France 19.6%
  • DE Germany 16.0%
  • GR Greece 18.0%
